19 Apr Niniola Bags Big Nomination at the South African Music Awards 2018
Lagos, Nigeria – It’s a big nomination for Niniola at the South African Music Awards 2018, and we all saw it coming! The love from South Africa for Niniola and her steady and impressive music offerings is real!
Late Thursday night, the nominees for this year’s edition of the prestigious South African Music Awards were announced. Niniola bagged a nomination in the Best African Artist Album category with her debut album “This Is Me“.
Battling it out with the Queen of Afro-House, Niniola, for the big award is fellow Nigerian and Afrobeat superstar Wizkid. Other nominees in the category are Zoe Modiga, Moreira Chonguica & Manu Dibango, and Simphiwe Dana.
It’s the second time already this week we’re seeing Niniola and Wizkid in the same sentence for an award.
Niniola’s “This Is Me” album comprises hit songs and listeners favorites such as “Saro“, “Sicker“, “Magun” and the mega-hit “Maradona” which peaked at No. 1 on numerous charts in South Africa and Nigeria.
The awards will take place on the 2nd of June at The Sun City Resort, Rustenburg, South Africa, and will be aired at 20:00 SA local time on SABC1.
